Upper Krč was joined to the Great Prague in 1922 as XIV. Prague district belonging to the Nusle. We can still find old numbers from the years 1922 -1949 on some houses.
Upper Krc welcomes us with its neo-renaissance atmosphere of luxury villas ...
..... with beautifully carved balconies and arcades
Sometimes we are transferred to Tyrol
Next villa is hidden behind high walls in a park landscaped gardens
Others villas are reconstructed in the original color
This villa takes us back to sunny Italy
Beautiful functionalistic works were created in Upper Krc during the inter-war period. This villa was built in the 1930s for the famous hotelier Julis .... yes the one who owned the large same name hotel on Wenceslas Square designed by architect Pavel Janak, who drew his inspiration from hotel Avion in Brno.
Villa Maria, as we can read above the entrance, was built neo-classicisical style, but unfortunately the windows are new ones
I was captivated by this villa with nice gables on a hill.
There used to be a small village long before all the villas were built, only a few old houses have been preserved ...
... with a lovely rural corners
Do you know that there are total of 112 districts in Prague ? As Czech writer Karel Čapek says:" Prague resident knows just as Wenceslas Square and three blocks around their home and that such Vinohrady residents will come rather to Algiers than to Peter's quarter". As well as tourists usually pass through a main tourist route and then say that Prague is crammed with tourists. I have therefore a proposal for you - gradually to pass together virtually through all districts in Prague......
